This impressive contemporary wall quilt was made through a combination of traditional quilt art and modern computer technology. Harmoniously arranged motifs from 270 illustrations document current topics, such as consumption, society, gender roles, environment, war or politics. Typical motifs for the quilt, such as flowers or animals, are interpreted in a contemporary style; religious and art historical symbols hint at their ambiguousness. This quilt lives from the tension between superficial beauty and morbid meanings.
