”The Game Report“ – a business report that is also a computer game – was developed by Bytro Labs, who were looking for new business partners and wanted to let them experience the company’s game developing and business skills at the same time. The familiar type of text-form business report was edited so that its data could be used as programming parameters. The content was then combined with the source code of a specially developed game design concept and compiled into a single file, allowing it to switch between text and game form by changing the file extension from .txt to .html. Thus, ”The Game Report“ can both be read and played like a game. Users navigate with the help of a character through the various chapters and contents, complemented by easily comprehensible interactive graphics and diagrams. The annual report features a clear and friendly colour design, and it is embedded in an engaging background narrative.

The idea and design of ”The Game Report“ is outstanding above all for two reasons: the report itself adopts the form of a source code file, which is quite appropriate for a game company. In addition, it can be played as a game. Alongside its elegant execution, this work also displays humour and creativity, and provides entertainment value.
