The Sweet Dreams Lamp Book

Starting with the pictogram on the cover, this unusual book promises “sweet dreams”. The symbol is a modernised version of a traditional Chinese character, which stands for a peaceful night’s sleep and is believed to protect from evil dreams. When opened, the book unfolds into an actual night lamp, which emits light by a phosphorescent coating on the book’s pages. This results in a sculpture that combines an aesthetic appeal with energy-saving functionality.
