The contemporary design of Themélio provides the chance to explore modern technologies that could conceive objects in shapes that are difficult to achieve via conventional manufacturing processes. In this project, the centre piece has complex profiles that can only be milled by a computer. The resulting form joins perfectly with all the parts and elements of the coat rack. The assembly of the coat rack has been designed to hide the ironmongery components. Each leg is made of a folded steel sheet with two studs welded on it. These two studs have to be inserted into the metallic centre piece. Finally, the two pins have to be screwed to the top and the bottom of the centre piece to ensure sturdy assembly. Themélio reaches the consumer flat-packed and contains only six elements. Users will find the self-assembly of the rack clear, systematic and intuitive.
