This project is based on the classification of rhetorical figures according to expansion, omission, substitution, transposition and gemination. For each of these five modification categories a font was created which illustrates the intrusions into language. These fonts were developed on the basis of micro-typographic changes to the Antiqua Didot font. The novel “Exercises in Style” by Raymond Queneau, which tells the story of an everyday incident in 99 variations, served as a draft for the application of this typographic concept.
