Yi-Mo-Yien is a brand of cosmetics which features classical Chinese rouge and the ways to put it on. The packaging illustration tells stories about the manufacturing of rouge with humorous details about beauty care in ancient China. While the graphics are characterised by a modern, reduced style, the colours are typical shades of the Tang Dynasty, dating back more than 1,000 years. By blending the stylistic elements, the illustrations emphasise the value of the established and bridge the gap between life in the past and today’s lifestyle.
