Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2013

Mutabor

Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2013 was Mutabor, an owner-run, independent design agency with its headquarters in Hamburg, which is one of the most successful of its kind in Germany. True to the company name, which comes from Latin and translates as “I’m going to change”, Mutabor is all about change that benefits clients. These include Audi AG, Bosch Hausgeräte and Daimler AG as well as other large corporations.

Mutabor was founded by Johannes Plass and Heinrich Paravicini and since the early 1990s has stood for integrated brand presence. Starting with branding, identities are designed at all levels of the brand management process. The company has won several Red Dot: Grand Prix awards for its work. In the 2013 competition, the award was won for a series of posters for Gestalten publishing company that showed typical country-specific clichés in the form of playfully assembled figures.

“We develop brands by creating identities.”

– Johannes Plass, Founder of Mutabor
