Compared to standing, sitting down on a chair puts twice as much pressure on the lower back, which is a major cause of lumbar disc disease (herniated disks). To help avoid sitting in a slouched for an extended period of time, the Bada chair intentionally provides sweet discomfort by encouraging the user to change positions regularly and maintain proper posture. The chair’s seating surface is designed with a slight incline, giving the user little choice but to correct their sitting posture. Its entire form is designed so that the curves meet on purpose to represent the movements of rotating, sloping and sliding.
