The conceptual design idea for this hospital patient television with integrated media terminal was to convey a familiar, almost homey feel. Inspired by the design of digital picture frames, this monitor features a curved high-gloss frame with an elegant appeal. With regard to the ergonomic needs of hospital patients and to hygiene considerations, the most important functions are controlled via a separate display with membrane buttons. In addition to the hospital’s media package (TV, radio and Internet, if available), patients can play their personal slideshows by plugging in their own USB stick. The monitor therefore also functions as a digital picture frame, integrating a piece of home into the hospital setting.
