Chenqi New Usage Teapot Design

Originating from Eastern gardens, bamboo and water are symbols and expressions of purification. Traditionally, bamboo structures are created to ‘tianshui’ – the act of adding water – by using a certain amount of water to facilitate a balanced transfer of liquid between two ends of a bamboo tube. Chenqi, inspired by this bamboo structure system, changes the way traditional teapots are used and abandon their familiar structure and form.  The handle and the base of a traditional pot are eliminated and the bottom of Chenqi teapot is no longer placed on the tea tray, but suspended on a redesigned tea tray. This reimagined teapot design changes the way teapots are held and bring about a new function for the spout, thus resulting in a different tea-drinking experience. Chenqi enhances the sense of tea ritual by integrating sight, sound, touch and taste.
