Cities in Motion

Design motion screens with animated, colourful signatures of the respective city provide a welcome to travellers at all the main train stations in the Netherlands. A variable, custom-made typeface was designed for this purpose, and a dedicated script was developed for the animation of the individual words. The letters vary in size and shape and are aligned vertically rather in the traditional horizontal way, giving the typography a very distinct and vibrant feel. The grid is constantly in motion; the letters adjust to its changing framework and thus create a visually striking design.
