The Essenso Bombé cast iron grill pan sets itself apart from conventional grill pans through the convex shape of its bottom. This characteristic shape makes the wok an energy-saving kitchen tool, especially when it is used on a gas stove. It is another benefit of the convex base that all the fat is collected at the rim of the bottom so that it can easily be drained. This prevents the fat from burning and hence compromising the taste of the food. The manufacturer also advises to fill some water into the edge of the pan to prevent the collected fat from burning there.
