The FS 5-33 floor stand is a slide unit for operating microscopes as used, for instance, during neurosurgery. It serves to easily move microscopes into place where needed and then position them stably. For the purpose of safe, effortless sliding and positioning, electro-magnetic brakes in the joints are first released by pushing the orange buttons on the stand or microscope, and then automatically fixed by releasing the buttons after exact positioning. In addition, the smooth surfaces of the stand comply ideally with the strict disinfection requirements in operating theatres.
