For the love of photography

Since its early days, photography has been the first medium to automatically depict and at the same time capture reality. For its designer Masazumi Imai, the aim of the GFX series was to hark back to the time when photographers still had numerous film formats at their disposal, whereas today they have to make do with only three different sensor sizes in modern digital cameras. With this in mind, this series aims to offer a fourth option with large format photography. Furthermore, with these cameras, company FUJIFILM also wants to build on its long history in the production of photographic film. The GFX series features large format sensors that are approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35-mm full-frame sensor. With this performance, the series is designed to enable photographers and consumers to realise their visions in rich detail, create shots with beautiful blur effects (bokeh) and capture life with high colour precision. The compactly designed cameras are lightweight and feature a rapid autofocus that enables shooting in a wide range of scenarios. They embody a clean design, while aiming to appeal to both professional and hobby photographers with the 102-MP or 50.4-MP sensors respectively integrated depending on the model. They thus offer both target groups a comprehensive range of photographic expression.

The coherent integration of large format sensors in these digital cameras is impressive. Their performance is combined with well-thought-out functionality and ergonomics for use in a wide variety of scenarios. The cameras fit comfortably in the hand and offer a soft feel that is pleasant to the touch. Furthermore, they also convincingly implement the concept of making the qualities of the large format accessible to non-professional photographers.
