The brand name and packaging design have been created to promote Great Bastard, a revision of an English gin distilled from French grapes. The concept revolves around the conflict between England and France with their distinctive cultures, and expresses the desire to remain authentic and preserve traditions in times of globalisation. Thus, the colour concept is inspired by the flags of the countries. The rooster and the bulldog symbolise France and England while the brand name refers to an English king with French roots.
