HEPP2 5-inch Dual Submersible Pump

Anyone who works under time pressure in narrow shafts or during flooding needs solutions that work instantly. The HEPP2 5-inch Dual Submersible Pump was designed precisely for this purpose – developed from scratch, it is a modular pump system with a compact design that replaces up to 14 conventional pump models, can be used flexibly and is intuitive to operate. At the heart of the system is a double outlet – a design innovation that allows the flow capacity to be doubled by simultaneously connecting a second wastewater hose, thus eliminating the need for an additional pump. With a diameter of less than 500 mm and a weight of only 30 kg, the system remains mobile even under demanding conditions – for example in flood protection, tunnels or municipal infrastructures. The development of the dual submersible pump system was based on the principle of radical simplification. First, a flow-optimised mechanism was created, then the design was consistently further developed in terms of ergonomics, clarity and robustness. “We analysed exactly how the pump is handled in real use – what ergonomic requirements exist, how maintenance and transport can be simplified and how operating errors can be avoided even under stress,” explains design engineer Philipp Stempfle. From a technical point of view, complex processes have been simplified and automated to such an extent that users can work safely and reliably even under difficult set-up conditions. The result is a robust, clearly structured device with ergonomic controls that can also be handled safely when wearing protective equipment. “The HEPP2 5-inch Dual Submersible Pump is an extremely complex product,” said the jury, impressed. “However, thanks to the user-centred design and precise product graphics, operation is logical and easy to understand. This makes the pump a safe, powerful tool for professionals and amateurs alike and makes their work much easier. In addition, the purist look, which conveys technical precision, robustness and reliability – and thus the safety that is required in use – is appealing.” This dual submersible pump demonstrates that system intelligence does not have to prove itself through complexity – but through the ability to achieve more with less.
