The Joychess is a response to the fact that we now communicate almost exclusively electronically, and suggests playing chess or other games outdoors instead. The scroll-inspired game mat can be easily to unfold and rolled up again, making it conveniently portable – and solving the problem of the cumbersome use and storage of conventional chessboards. Through its simplicity, the Joychess encourages shared enjoyment and a return to the most primal form of interaction.
