“Mother’s Little Helpers” were popular tranquilisers among housewives in the 1960s. This chewing gum with the same name ironically recalls their fame. The packaging design of the small handbag-sized tins plays, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, with the therapeutic promise – the chewing gum itself, of course, contains purely natural ingredients. With psychedelic retro-motifs and symbols of femininity, each tin shows the pseudo medical conditions associated with each of the four different flavours. The colours match those of the original tranquilisers.
