PIY Jinsha Store

The concept for the PIY Jinsha Store was to create “a furniture store without furniture”. All furniture parts are hanging on walls, inviting customers to assemble them hands on for testing on the spot or to put them together virtually on a touchscreen. The wall surface features punched plates that are equipped with special hooks for holding the parts. This allows for easy adjustment when new shelves are needed or new products are on the market. The floor is paved with PVC cushions to prevent injuries. In addition to yellow tartan patterns correlating with the furniture footprints, there are also yellow spots that cor-respond to the different furniture “footholds”. Together they guide customers through the assembly quickly.
