PostureSense: A New Sensing Device

返回 Download

PostureSense features a soft, light, sensitive, and stretchable tape sensor that can be easily assembled into wearable garments. The conductive sensor tape provides appropriate stretchability for comfort and can be tailored through different design parameters, allowing for monitoring of different postures. When compared to other motion monitoring devices for sports training, PostureSense is extremely lightweight, highly flexible, and low in cost, making it an accessible tool for sports scientists and therapists in a flexible testing environment. PostureSense aims to provide an optimised sensor that interacts with cyclists' experiences for performance monitoring and posture correction. In the future, the sensing tape will be refined into a wearable monitoring device with a mobile application that is integrated into users' daily lives, allowing sports scientists or therapists to remotely monitor patients' situations. This feature has significant implications for the future development of sportswear and wearables, as it will facilitate the realisation and commercialisation of this project. PostureSense is an applied research project that proposes a balanced mix of midstream and downstream research and development activities in relation to smart wearable sensor innovation and its application in sportswear design. The downstream commercial activities will benefit the community by involving sports scientists, athletes, bike commuters, and consultants from sports companies in the development of an innovative wearable system. The project provides significant commercial and technological value, making it an exciting and promising innovation in the fields of sports science, therapy, and wearable technology.
