Shih-Chi Stone Hot Pot
The exterior of the Shih-Chi Stone Hot Pot restaurant is inspired by the architecture of ancient Japanese shrines. A huge black iron arch stands on the central entrance to divide in and out. The massive rice straw ropes under the eaves symbolise the transition from profane to sacred. On the inside, the seating area is surrounded by a wood panelling that projects a peaceful, quiet space within a space. This impression of an outer and inner area is furthered through a water basin with a Buddha statue and the reception counter made of imitation stone.
