Social media is essential for communication and information exchange, even for the visually impaired, who often use voice assistants to navigate platforms. However, most social media platforms rely heavily on visual content, resulting in an information gap between visually impaired and sighted users.
To address this, Sound Memory is developed in collaboration with visually impaired individuals. This app captures sounds instantly, lets users replay them like an album, and contains social networking features. Sound Memory is not just an app; it introduces a revolutionary concept: 'imprinting memories through sound'.
For visually impaired users, even navigating apps can be a challenge. Sound Memory is designed for simplicity. With one touch, users can record sounds, title them, and post to share with followers, receiving likes and comments. For sighted users, it provides a refreshing alternative to visually saturated platforms, helping them connect through emotional and lasting audio moments.
Sound Memory redefines connection through sound. The app encourages exploration, empowering visually impaired individuals to venture outside to capture unique sounds. It also opens the door to new possibilities, such as the growth of 'soundographers', or specialists who capture and curate the world through audio, transforming how we experience and share life.
