The New Bird Hall

The Staatliches Naturhistorisches Museum (State Natural History Museum) in Braunschweig, Germany, boasts one of the most extensive bird collections in the country. The new bird hall is home to an impressive display of more than 200 specimens and objects. Visitors are greeted by a flock of birds in flight just below the ceiling. The free form of the partially open ceiling and the staggered, backlit walls create an atmosphere which communicates a feeling of freedom and flight.
