The Path to Charity

Using few graphical means, this poster project seeks to encourage people to stay on the ethically right path. The concise, vertical compositions are based on the Chinese characters for “benevolence”, “compassion” and “kindness”. The key design feature is the idea of the road as a direction which people give to their actions. Rough line textures and bold black-and-white contrasts lend emphasis to the images. The simple lines intersecting at certain points can be grasped intuitively, giving even those who do not speak Chinese the chance to understand the meaning of the posters.
