The Under the Roof House follows a sustainable concept in terms of both construction and lifestyle. Due to a shortage of labour, a steel structure was chosen instead of reinforced concrete, which is labour-intensive and more environmentally harmful. For older residents, the design provides fluid, open living areas that support social integration and encourage contact with nature through seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. The building also blends into the landscape, with the peaks of the roofing referencing the nearby mountains.
