Red Dot Award: Design Concept

Last chance: participation possible until 21 April 2023

Submissions are still possible until 21 April 2023

Competing for a Red Dot is a highly effective way to leverage on an independent group of design experts to provide unbiased evaluation of new concepts or innovations. This year’s late submissions period ends on 21 April 2023. During this phase, entries submitted to the award are immediately included into final judging.

Designers, design teams, companies and design studios have the final opportunity to present their latest ideas, visions, prototypes and ready to launch products.

A standard for consistent and modern design capability

Since 2011, the Red Dot Institute has been publishing the Red Dot Design Ranking for design concepts. Design excellence requires sustained investments and efforts. The ranking is based on the results of the Red Dot Award: Design Concept published in the yearbooks. It takes into account all levels of awards at the Red Dot Award for Design Concept over the past five years and ranked into six distinct honorary lists for Companies, Design Studios and Universities, in the Americas & Europe and Asia Pacific regions.

Red Dot Design Museum Singapore showcases award winning design

Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore was established in 2005 along Maxwell Road. In 2017, the museum relocated to one of the most prominent districts in Singapore, its present location along the Marina Bay. The museum is the physical portrayal of the Red Dot Design Award, presenting the latest international trends. Good design capability needs a credible promotion platform and winning a Red Dot gives designers access to international promotional opportunities that are only available for winners.

Impartiality, Expertise and Professionalism

With an expert eye for details, international specialists serve as a fair, recognised, and indisputable jury. This makes the Red Dot Award: Design Concept a benchmark for high quality and design excellence. The entries are presented to the jury without names, picture or logos of the designers. Every juror pledges to the “Code of Honour” and thereby is excluded from taking part in the competition. In addition, to avoid conflicts of interest, the jurors may not be employees of the manufacturing industry. This ensures the highest degree of objectivity when selecting the winning designs.

Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2023 final submissions end 21 April

The search of the best new product ideas, concepts, prototypes and ready to launch products is now happening, Red Dot Award: Design Concept is open to all entries of concepts and ready to launch products from designers, design teams, companies, studios and universities from all over the world. This is the last chance to compete in this year’s Red Dot Award: Design Concept and to communicate one’s design and innovative competency.
