Like an unmarked coffer – black-clad, hardcover and compact – this particular cube-like book opens to reveal 352 intriguing pages highlighting the work of a Berlin-based architectural company over the last twenty years. Each project is introduced with a black double page with white illustration and bold type, making it easier to navigate from project to project. The strength of the book lies in creating lively, full-bleed images and uniting them in a layout which is uninhibited, yet precise. Its dimensions were wisely chosen to highlight the horizontal format of the photographs and create a positive haptic experience, which is further fostered by the use of high-quality uncoated paper.
