Der Pixelmacher – zdf.kultur

“Der Pixelmacher” (The Pixel-Maker) is a new format, running on the pop-culture-oriented TV channel zdf.kultur, which features reporting on all kinds of games, including new computer games. The show offers game-freaks a forum and reports news from the gaming scene. The con­cept of the show’s design has taken the format’s title literally and has created a mischievous pixel monster who pixels everything by smashing objects with a latex hammer, immediately turning them into big, colourful pixels. The opening credits and the entire design package follow the playful character of the channel’s design. The Pixel-Maker was realised on a low budget and filmed with a digital SLR camera.
