The opening trailer for the international short film competition kurzundschön (short and nice) in Cologne plays with the perception of time and the flow of move­ment. In this film, Cologne residents are liberated from daily existence for a brief moment and are literally elevated from the ground to float suspended in mid-air. An experience of serenity and inner clarity is transferred to the viewer. The trailer communicates the meaning of one single moment – short and nice, as implied by the competition name – to which the viewer is happy to surrender.
