The lunar calendar plays an important role in oriental culture. It is based on the idea that the forces of the moon do not only cause the tides but also have a huge impact on our daily life. The booklet “Pick for luck” shows which days in the lunar cycle are best for certain activities. A series of illustrations helps users to have a better understanding of the calendar by explaining difficult terms through dialogues between grandmothers and grandchildren. In a humorous way, the pictures convey the message that the tradition of the lunar calendar is still of great use and deserves more attention.
