The Sculptor

This illustration has been created as a personal artwork. It introduces the figure of a sculptor who chooses to build his reality by himself to escape the lies and fakers in the real world. In the picture, lighting and colouring play a major role to create a mysterious atmosphere. The dilemma of the creative process is visualised by the key motifs of a flower and the sculptor’s head. Meanwhile, a strip of light triggers the imagination of the beholder: where does the light come from, and what does it mean to the artist depicted?
