Standing Chair
The Standing Chair, inspired by the abacus, reveals the social dynamics of intimacy in public spaces by allowing users to adjust the distance between public seats. The chair, made of styrene-butadiene rubber and polycarbonate, generates greater friction when an occupied seat is pressed to keep it secure and reduces friction when the seat is vacant to allow it to slide.
