The Red Dot Design Museums enchant visitors all across the globe with their exhibitions on current design, and all of the exhibits have won a Red Dot Award.
Innovative products in historical architecture: With more than 2,000 exhibits, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in the former boiler house of the UNESCO world heritage site Zeche Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex houses the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design.
In Singapore too, the Red Dot Design Museum boasts an unusual location: Visitors can look at the exhibition in the glass building on Marina Bay to the south of the city. The iconic building features several galleries and shows an exhibition of in excess of 345 award-winning, futuristic concepts.
The latest Red Dot Design Museum is located in the Chinese coastal city of Xiamen. The venue is situated in the rebuilt Terminal 2 of Xiamen Gaoqi Airport, covering an area of 10,000 square meters. It is mainly composed of an exhibition space, the co-working space “Space”, a design school and a design library. What makes the latest Red Dot exhibition space so special is the fact that it is the only Red Dot Design Museum that unites prize-winning designs from all three competitions of the Red Dot Award, namely from the Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept.
Innovative and well-designed objects from roughly 45 countries will allow visitors to experience the quality of good design first hand, as the visitors are encouraged to touch and try out numerous exhibits in all of the Red Dot Design Museums.
