The experience design team of Huobi Global, Huobi Design Center (HDC) commits itself to improve user experience in financial payment products and services while exploring innovative methods to enhance the internet ecosystem experience. The HDC team remains dedicated to putting users at the heart of design and harnessing technology for social good amid the global digital transformation. HDC is focusing on building and developing a decentralised ecosystem by providing faster access to DeFi and CeFi. The team aims to offer the ultimate user experience and, at the same time, empower businesses and increase the impact value of the design industry. Improving lives through better design is what HDC firmly believes in. By advocating user-centricity and the need to make finance more efficient, HDC aims to improve user experience and the blockchain ecosystem.

Red Dot: To what extent do you think new technologies are changing design?
HB Switzerland Holding: Blockchain encryption allows us to protect our privacy more thoroughly while making every transaction traceable and tamper-proof. This technological transformation is changing how design works. We are focusing on conveying information accurately and simplifying the interaction process. We have also streamlined the verification process and made the user experience much faster and smoother. Meanwhile, we have been helping our users to better understand new technologies and ensuring they pay more attention to safeguarding security. Design is the reflection of the real world; it is sincere at heart and trustworthy in essence.

How would you define good communication design?
Good communication design must be clear in meaning, form and focus. This is to ensure users can get its intended message intuitively and promptly.

What makes your work unique?
We’ve been conducting in-depth research on our target users to gain insight into their habits and preferences and have developed differentiated designs based on the characteristics of the target groups. Through a mix of simplified product logic, optimised interactive design, and youth-friendly visual elements, we are able to create simple, efficient and secure products that are well received by users.

What intention do you pursue with your award-winning work?
We intend to think outside the box and go beyond the conventional expressions of a mobile app. We try to make our product design more creative and sustainable by putting users at the heart of everything. We hope iToken Wallet will play a bigger role in constructing the global blockchain financial infrastructure.

Which target group would you like to address with your award-winning work?
Our target users are those from the blockchain industry who use decentralised wallets. They can be broadly divided into two categories: On the one hand, beginner users who have little understanding of decentralisation. Such users will find our decentralised wallet easy to use through our beginner-friendly design and interactive user guidance. On the other hand, sophisticated users who have deep knowledge in decentralisation and are adept at using decentralised wallets. Such users will not only get a secure and convenient wallet but will also find a wide array of features that cater to their needs. We would very much like to maintain this group of users. To put it in a nutshell, we take decentralisation as the core of what we do. Through innovative and friendly interaction design, we are pushing iToken to become a DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation), turning our product into a top multichain wallet that features self-possession of private keys, multilayer encryption and cross-chain accessibility.
