Delivery Terms

Participants are solely responsible for delivering their projects within the specified period. The cost of shipping and importation (customs, import VAT, fees) are to be borne by the participant. As the transport risk lies with the participant, we recommend that you take out transport insurance.

If you are shipping from outside the EU, please refer to the shipping and customs information below, under ‘Shipments from non-EU countries’.

Labelling your entry

Attach the PI code label to the project without detracting from its appearance (e.g. on the inside of a book cover or on the back of a poster). Please also attach the PI code label to the shipping container to clearly identify your project.

Where to find the PI code label?

Where to find the PI code label?

You will receive your PI code label as part of the registration confirmation e-mail. The label is also available in the My Red Dot portal under “My applications" – "Status of my applications” – “PDF Download”.

Shipments from non-EU countries

Should your submission be shipped from a country outside the EU, it must be placed under the customs procedure „release for free circulation” and delivered according to Incoterm® DDP (Delivered Duty Paid).

In accordance with the Incoterm® DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) the sender is responsible for all charges relating to shipment, including any customs duties, fees and taxes. Furthermore, the sender is responsible for any transportation risks.

It is important to verify that the parcel service provider meets the Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) requirement. Please note that national and state postal services as well as the EMS Network cannot meet this requirement.

Please ensure that you have a personal account with a registered parcel service provider for the shipment of your parcel. This is essential for addressing any potential customs clearance and billing issues.

Helpful customs advices

Helpful customs advices

Please declare your shipment at customs by stating detailed information about the content and value of your shipment by using a proforma invoice.

  • Common description of the content
  • Detailed description of the content
  • Realistic value of the content
  • Address and contact information of the sender and receiver

For the proforma invoice, you can use this template to prepare your proforma invoice. Some couriers provide their own shipping documents. Please check beforehand if they will provide the documents or if you need to prepare them yourself.

Shipping liquids, powders, batteries or other dangerous goods

Please note that projects containing alcohol or other liquids, powders, or batteries may be considered dangerous goods in international shipping. If this applies to your submission, we recommend sending your packaging empty, or with an alternative filling if necessary, to avoid import restrictions.

Cooperating Logistics Partner

You can use any shipping service provider of your choice to send your submission, as long as they ensure delivery in accordance with our delivery terms.

If you need a recommendation for a safe and smooth logistics process, we recommend our co-operation partner Pro Messe Service. For deliveries from China, please contact APT Showfreight for a non-binding offer.
