Your award-winning products you submitted to the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023, and which were subsequently exhibited in our museums in Essen and Xiamen, can be collected between 26 and 30 January 2026.

If you wish to collect your products, please arrange for a shipping company, parcel service, or another service provider to pick them up during this period, or feel free to collect them in person. You may send us return labels, shipping labels, or any other shipment documents via email in advance.

Alternatively, you may leave the products at Red Dot for donation or disposal, free of charge.

Please inform us of your decision by 16 January 2026 so we can prepare and pack your items in time. Kindly note that collection is only possible if we receive your feedback by this date.

Terms and responsibilities

As a participant in the Red Dot Design Award, you are responsible for organizing the collection of your products and covering the associated costs. You can arrange the return with a service provider of your choice or collect the products in person.

Red Dot will pack the products and hand them over to the shipping service provider at our collection address. Upon request, we can inform you in advance about the number, dimensions, and weight of your shipment, or attach any required shipping documents or labels.

If the products are not collected within the specified period, they will be disposed of free of charge or donated, if possible.

Please note that your products will only be prepared for collection and packed for transport if we receive your feedback by 16 January 2026.

Collection of large packages, boxes and pallets

A vehicle with a lifting platform or tail lift is essential for the collection of large-volume products. A forklift truck is not available to assist with loading. Please inform your logistics service provider of the need for such a vehicle.

Shipping of dangerous goods: lithium batteries, rechargeable batteries, liquids and powders

Please note that products containing batteries or liquids may be considered dangerous goods for international shipping. Please check the applicable dangerous goods regulations with your shipping service provider in advance and let us know if and how your shipment needs to be labelled.

Useful information about customs

Exporting goods to countries outside the European Union requires careful preparation. Below you will find the most important information to help you export your shipments to non-EU countries smoothly and in compliance with the law.

1. Declaration of contents via pro forma invoice

Please declare your shipment to customs by providing detailed information about the contents and value of your shipment using a pro forma invoice.

  • General description of the contents
  • Detailed description of the contents
  • Country of origin
  • Realistic value of the contents
  • Address and contact information of the sender and recipient

If you or your shipping service provider do not have your own invoice template, you can use this template to prepare your pro forma invoice. Please check in advance whether your service provider provides the documents or whether you need to create them yourself. Pro forma invoice (PDF, 250 KB)

2. Customs declaration for goods worth more than €1,000

For exports from the EU, an export accompanying document (EAD) is required if the value of the goods exceeds £1,000 or the weight exceeds 1,000 kg. Without the export accompanying document (EAD) and the associated Movement Reference Number (MRN), the export is not properly declared and the goods may not leave the EU.

The export accompanying document (EAD) with the MRN can be created either by a customs agent or by an international freight forwarder.

3. Shipping documents

In addition to the pro forma invoice, further documents may be required depending on the type of shipment, for example, air waybills (AWB for air freight), packing lists or, for postal items, the customs declaration CN22/23.

4. Customs duties, taxes and charges

Upon receipt of the shipment, customs duties, taxes and other fees and charges may be payable by the recipient, depending on the destination country and the type and value of the goods.

5. Export control

Before shipping, make sure that the goods can be exported and imported into the destination country and check whether any permits are required or restrictions apply.

Procedure in the event of failure to respond and collection
Failure to respond and collect the goods on time is equivalent to consent to disposal/donation in accordance with our General Terms and Conditions (GTC).
