Red Dot Award: Design Concept

Award Ceremony on 15 October 2025

The jury panel for the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2025 has selected the year’s best research projects, prototypes, and concepts. Marking two decades since the award began, it has become a global stage for the boldest minds in design, inviting designers, studios, and companies to present their ideas and set new benchmarks for innovation.

Winning designers from around the world will travel to Singapore on October 15 to celebrate their achievements. The Award Ceremony will be held at the Capitol Theatre in the city’s civic district, followed by a celebratory Designers’ Night at the Red Dot Design Museum, which will extend into the early hours of the next day.

Selected from among the year’s most outstanding Red Dot: Best of the Best design concepts, top contenders for the Red Dot: Luminary and Red Dot: Peter Zec Prize have been nominated. These projects represent the highest level of design excellence and innovation, pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks for the industry. The winner of each award will be revealed during the Award Ceremony.

Enlightening Star is a remote braille learning system for blind children in less accessible regions. The system enables teachers to manage courses online and includes a braille display and writing device for students, thereby improving their learning and independence.

ViWipe provides a paper-based, non-invasive, and low-cost STI testing method using menstrual blood. Combining empathy, technology, and inclusive design, it addresses the fear and embarrassment often associated with smear tests and reimagines the diagnostic experience for women.

The Audion envisions a new kind of AI companion to liberate users from smartphone distractions. Its compact, human-centered design and voice-first interaction transform smartphones into tools for clarity and focus, fostering a mindful relationship with technology.

Daize seamlessly merges the tactile charm of analogue interfaces with the innovation of generative AI. Both a creative tool and a striking interior object, its intuitive controls and immersive feedback empower users to remix, recompose, and personalize music.

Nominees for Red Dot: Luminary

Silver Arrow is a highly architectural urban bridge structure in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany. The 412-meter-long pedestrian and bicycle bridge spans the River Emscher with an elegant structure achieved through a synthesis of architectural design and engineering.

Fastport Honda is a compact electric cargo vehicle designed for urban delivery in congested areas. With a focus on bike lanes, it replaces vans to provide efficiency and adaptability. Transparent materials boost visibility, while bicycle-inspired controls ensure seamless integration.

Sports Bra Design Platform enables fully customizable comfort, fit, and style. The platform combines generative AI with user-input data on a body-scanned parametric design platform, exploring new designs and customisations for fully adaptive comfort and material experiences.

Strutt ev¹ is a smart personal transport system that introduces advanced automotive technology to the personal mobility sector for the first time. The ev¹’s smart Co-Pilot, rugged Smart-Wheel system, and high-capacity LFP battery help users tackle all practical barriers in their path.
