Red Dot: Which user groups did you have in mind when designing the MAKR 75 DIY Gaming Keyboard?

The premise for the MAKR 75 DIY Gaming Keyboard was not to compromise on quality or aesthetics while offering a premium product that would be accessible to everybody. We aimed to create a keyboard that would win over not only the experienced DIY enthusiast base but also entry-level customers who value high-quality components and design. We thus developed a user-friendly system that appeals to tech enthusiasts as much as to hardcore gamers or journalists in need of a reliable new work tool.

Which design detail of the keyboard do you personally like best?

Two details stand out for us. One is the precisely made aluminium body – the keyboard’s absolute hero. This offers users a feeling of quality and durability and represents CORSAIR’s exacting standards for design and workmanship. The second detail is the technical structure on the backside of the keyboard. Although this surface usually faces the desk, it was second nature for us to give it the highest level of creative attention. For us, every detail counts, whether it’s on show or not.

How would you define design quality?

Design quality at CORSAIR is defined by attention to detail and a consistent use of high-quality materials. Every aspect – from the solid metal construction to perfectly formed surfaces, fillets and chamfers – is designed to deliver ergonomic comfort and achieve a modern aesthetic. The result is a performance product of the highest calibre that our customers are proud to use and show off.
