Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2018 – competition starts with “Early Bird” submission phase

The early bird catches the worm. The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2018 has started with its first submission period. As of now, agencies, designers and companies can enter their design and creative projects in the internationally organised design competition. Until 10 April, they will benefit from the reduced registration fees of the “Early Bird” phase. Trainees, students and young professionals can also put their potential to the test. In the Red Dot: Junior Award, they receive a 20 per cent discount on the registration fees.

The own performance under scrutiny
Agencies, designers and companies who want to define their position on the global market, can put their performance to the test in 17 categories. All projects entered in the Red Dot Award: Communication Design, will be examined by the internationally cast Red Dot Jury. The verdict and the decision on awarding the Red Dot is made individually for each single work and in a critical dialogue of the experts with each other.

Catalysts of growth and success
“The range of products and services on offer is huge, and many markets are heavily saturated. In order to fare well in a comparison with competitors, win clients and retain a successful position on the market, a product, brand or corporate presence must be immediately convincing. Innovative power, creativity and good design characterise communication design that sets standards. These are the catalysts of growth and success”, explains Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award.

Red Dot seal for quality in design
Only projects that win over the jury with their good design quality and creativity receive the Red Dot. Outstanding entries are awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best. The Red Dot: Grand Prix only goes to a small number of projects, namely the best in their category. The laureates can look forward to services which are reserved for Red Dot winners only. These include the usage of the Red Dot Label as an attention-generating marketing tool and the presentation of the work in the yearbook and in exhibitions. The final application deadline for all those who want to prove their creative know-how and design competency is 15 June 2018.
