Silvia D’Alesio

Silvia D’Alesio is an expert with nearly a decade of experience specialising in the intersection of research and innovation, working on technology transfer within the fields of Food Technology and Packaging Design. Her international background spans strategic industry advisory, keynote speaking, and project coordination.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology as well as an International Master of Science in Food Innovation and Product Design. Currently she works as a research assistant at the Polytechnic University of Milan, focusing on pioneering sustainable solutions for the FMCG market, leveraging eco-design processes to develop innovative packaging technologies and materials. She is certified in Sustainability Measurement and Reporting Systems.

Silvia also serves as a teaching assistant at the University of Milan, working on modelling and optimisation processes, and at Accademia NABA Milano Communication and Graphic Design, where she teaches eco-design, brand strategy, and scenario design. Here, she also contributes to student development in new packaging design as judge for the EPDA Award.

Her early career includes collaborative projects with institutions and companies such as AgroParisTech, Danone, Lund University, and Tetra Pak, gaining valuable experience in new product and packaging development. 

In her role as advisor and strategist, she collaborates with Packaging Première Milano while scouting high-potential startups for technology transfer in the luxury sector. Her leadership and coordination efforts involve managing complex initiatives like the Digital Food Ecosystem projects. 

She frequently speaks at premier global industry events such as Paris Packaging Week with the Netherlands Packaging Centre and Packaging & Recycling and provides expert commentary for leading media outlets like FoodBev Media, Global Retail Brands and Sustainability Packaging News (SPN). Furthermore, her professional standing is underscored by her contributions as a judge for honours, including the Sustainability Packaging Award by Packaging Europe.
