“1:X – Twelve Looks through the Magnifying Glass” explores the minute characteristics of plants. The process starts with a visual Petri dish, in which each specimen is presented in its original size. In the following, enlargements reveal the different parts, structures and shapes. The plants, which come from the botanical Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, have been taken apart and digitised with a microscope. The result is a calendar reminiscent of historic wall maps in biology class, combining this aesthetic with modern graphic elements.
