65 Roses - Raising Awareness for Cystic Fibrosis
The main goal of these innovative and sculptural womenswear designs is to raise awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation while also giving the garments a deeper meaning.
The collection focuses on two innovative techniques: acrylic thermoforming and geometric cutting. Acrylic thermoforming uses laser cutting technology and heat to mould thermoformed acrylic pieces into lightweight sculptural forms that retain complex shapes naturally. The geometric cutting technique creates maximum volume and three-dimensional structures without the use of seams, darts, or layers of gathered fabric. Precise calculations enable an entire gown to be developed without the use of muslins or sample production, resulting in minimal waste fabric, making this method a sustainable solution for extravagant evening wear.
