Data Visualisation
A Stranger to Words
“A Stranger to Words” is an interactive network graph that visualises the experience of learning English. Based on a daily reading report, this personal database of 23,358 words was created originally to express how the designer understood words. The complicated graph evolves in a high diversity of transformations, creating a mesmerising interactive visual experience in which the language and the line of connection work in unison. The goal is to reveal a connecting system of underlying text algorithms in an insightful and novel way, and to unfold personal sentiments of learning a new language through the capabilities of data visualisation.
