Insulin Pump Cartridge-Filling System

Accu-Chek Insight

This cartridge-filling system for the Accu-Chek Insight insulin pump enables automatic filling of the related cartridge. The insulin is drawn from a conventional insulin vial (10 ml) and filled into an insulin pump cartridge (2 ml). In contrast to manual filling, this automatic process is almost air-bubble free, and it also requires less time. The main design focus is on simple and intuitive use, allowing the user to immediately grasp how the device works. The status LED displays information about the current filling process as well as the battery-charge level.

Statement by the Jury

This system provides for nearly bubble-free filling of the insulin reservoir, and it also frees up time so diabetics can attend to other things during the filling process. With regard to aesthetics, it impresses with a harmonious design.
