Assembled Void, Library at New York Korea Center in Manhattan, combines traditional Korean architecture with modern design. Shelves form an open rectangle around a courtyard-like space with reading furniture, encouraging movement and interaction. Glass walls facing the roof garden foster a visual link between indoor space and the green outdoors. Modular shelving units with wood, metal and coloured lattice components reinterpret traditional architectural principles. The post-and-lintel wooden assembly reduces material requirements and improves sustainability.
