Bayberry in Yangmei

Adorning the labels of bayberry-vinegar bottles and jam jars, these illustrations depict a grandchild and grandfather and their shared memories of bayberries and the products derived from it. Shades of red dominate the colour scheme of these hand-drawn illustrations and create a direct link to the glossy red fruit at the heart of each image. The deliberately naive, richly imaginative illustration style gives rise to creative image-worlds which convey joie de vivre and are imbued with warmth.
