Artful Irrigation
Never underestimate the amateur gardener’s penchant for aesthetics, for it is not limited to harmonious arrangements of perennial shrubs in the flower bed. Anyone who spends hours devotedly tending to their garden likes to have stylish tools and equipment. In fact, functionally perfect ones, like the Boxy Next hose reel, are adored by gardeners. “Boxy Next has a minimalist appearance and boasts high-quality workmanship. It also incorporates remarkably detailed solutions and is designed for easy handling,” said the impressed judges. “The reel is convenient to carry, the hose can be rolled up effortlessly and the material is also very pleasant to touch.” The design team focused on developing the most compact form possible so that the reel is easy to position and never in the way during gardening activities. A black crank handle is located on the front of the housing, which has a square body, soft edges and rounded corners. Boxy Next has a smooth winding action, a distinctive ergonomic shape and comes in three different natural colours. “It’s remarkable that there are no screws visible on the housing,” said the jury. “All connecting parts are concealed inside, giving the hose trolley a very elegant appearance.” The manufacturer particularly focused on achieving the necessary smooth surface quality of the garden hose to facilitate effortless winding, and a spiral structure prevents it from twisting on the reel. The hose reel comes with an innovative connector for effortless, no-tool docking of the hose on the faucet. The shower fitting offers excellent non-slip grip thanks to its sophisticated design and can be adjusted for different water jet types. Last but not least, a recycling system has been incorporated into the manufacturing process so that reusable raw materials can be recovered from hose remnants. Philosopher Rabindranath Tagore is quoted as saying, “Fools hurry, the clever wait, the wise enter into the garden gate.” And the aesthetes among the wise will probably take a Boxy Next with them.
