Although animal shelters strive to provide as much companionship as possible to each animal, they are frequently overwhelmed and understaffed. Buddy aims to better the lives of these animals by connecting them with nearby volunteers who can take them for walks, train them, and give them the undivided attention they deserve. The name Buddy implies that this enrichment is reciprocal, so even those who cannot commit to adopting a pet can enjoy the unparalleled company of a happy animal. Upon creating an account, the volunteer completes a questionnaire about themselves and the type of animal they would like to meet. The app will matches volunteers with animals from surrounding shelters. Buddy’s in-app smart scheduling system and dynamic checklist, make arranging a playdate easy.
