With the Can-Am Pulse, BRP is opening a new chapter: a return to the roots of the brand – and at the same time a departure into the future of urban electric mobility. Inspired by the innovative spirit of the first Can-Am motorcycle from 1973, the Pulse embodies an attitude that explores boundaries then and now. Instead of nostalgia, the design focuses on subtle reminiscences, such as the stylised pentagonal shape of the historic logo. The design is inspired by the Canadian snowy owl – a symbol of elegance, efficiency and silent power. The dynamic transition from the rear to the headlamp is reminiscent of an owl in flight and creates a sculptural tension that blends grace and energy. The result is a minimalist yet powerful appearance that combines naturalness and technological precision. Even with its all-electric platform, the Pulse retains the classic silhouette of a motorcycle with a fuel tank – a deliberate ergonomic and emotional anchor point for the transition to a new era of mobility. The compact naked bike is aimed at a new, urban target group: Easy handling, intuitive operability without gear shifting, ergonomically optimised design and a high level of user-friendliness democratise access to motorcycling. In terms of technology, the motorcycle is powered by a 35 kW Rotax electric motor. The innovative single-sided swing arm with enclosed chain-case reduces maintenance requirements. The modular construction, long service life and recyclability are evidence of a responsible design approach. “With its elegant yet sporty appearance, the Can-Am Pulse stands out convincingly from the crowd,” praised the jury. “Its design lends it a powerful yet graceful presence. Compact proportions, precisely modelled volumes and cleanly integrated details testify to the high design quality. Despite the complexity of the technology, the Pulse never appears overloaded, but is designed clearly and harmoniously throughout.” The engine also impressed during the test ride: “With its precise acceleration, controlled braking performance and balanced riding feel, the Pulse literally glides through the city – dynamic, light and full of energy.”
