Book
Cantonese Survival Guide
Although Cantonese has long been a major language in Hong Kong, it is now often replaced by Mandarin Chinese in many domains of society. With this booklet, the design direction leading the project aims at encouraging non-native speakers to learn to speak simple Cantonese when visiting Hong Kong. Designed with everyday situations in mind, the booklet teaches the language through an easy-to-understand approach. The use of light-hearted illustrations, the deconstruction of sentence structures into understandable “equations”, and a tighter integration of form, pronunciation and meaning all intend to make the learning of Cantonese easy and fun.
